Welcome

Visiting

We have trained visitors who can call upon members to give special assistance when required, and who can help with benefit forms, aids and resources. Help is always available to make sure that your living environment is safe and well equipped.
Information is available at 383 Battle Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, TN37 7BE

Working in partnership with the Eye Department at the Conquest Hospital and the Low Vision Clinic gives us a wider understanding of your eye problem and a better knowledge of equipment available to assist you.

Volunteers are recruited and trained and specialist help is available where needed.

User Groups

Users Group meetings are held regularly to discuss issues affecting blind and partially sighted people. Problems are aired and members are supported through the exchange of experiences, shared ideas and knowledge.

Holidays

Several escorted group holidays are arranged each year, and many places of interest are visited. Trained Volunteers give their time freely and are a great asset and support to all our members.

Resource Centre

The organisation is administered from here and we have a Resource Centre, where members can see and try the many aids and equipment available to help visually impaired people. These include talking clocks and watches, adapted games such as dominoes, scrabble, monopoly and playing cards, kitchen equipment, daily living aids, large button telephones and brailling equipment. Also available is a 20/20 Low Vision Reading System (CCTV) which enlarges the written word making any document easier to read. There is a wide range of information in large print and tape form and a selection of story tapes and large print books, which can be lent out.
