The Visually Impaired Peoples Group (VIP)

The Visually Impaired Peoples Group (VIP) for the under 60s is an independent group that meets monthly on a Wednesday evening. They enjoy activities such as ten pin bowling, quizzes, dry slope skiing, swimming, rambling, meals out, theatre trips, etc. They welcome anyone who is young at heart and active.

The Keep Fit Club

The Keep Fit Club meets at 2 pm - 4 pm every Thursday It is open to people of all ages from 9 to 90 and new members are always welcome. (Armchair participation is included). It is very gentle exercise.

Wednesday Club

The Wednesday Club meets every Wednesday throughout the year at 2 pm - 4 pm. Various forms of entertainment are enjoyed, talks, musical afternoons, outings and sometimes just a chat amongst members. All are welcome and tea is provided.

The Undaunted Club

The Undaunted Club which has been running for many years, meets every Friday from 2 pm to 4 pm. Various forms of entertainment are enjoyed, choirs, amateur variety shows and the like are appreciated by its many members.

The Art Group

The Art Group meets every Monday morning 10 am to 12 noon, and members are encouraged to develop their talents, with the support of a skilled art teacher. Many exhibitions have been held, and the work of our members is brilliant. Come along and see for yourself.

Swimming Club

Swimming Club - On every Monday morning we take an enthusiastic group to the Bexhill swimming pool.

Volunteers are there to ensure safety and we have encouraged many members to take up an activity they thought would be impossible for them.

During the school holidays, outings and luncheons are organised to maintain the level of involvement.

Craft Club

The Craft Group meets every Friday morning where a large variety of craft activities are encouraged. As well as knitting and sewing crafts, the group also makes items such as trays and rugs. No experience is necessary and all are welcome. The club sells its products to fund itself and occasionally enjoys outings for lunch.

 

Dominoes Group

The Dominoes Group meets every Monday afternoon to enjoy dominoes matches with blind and partially sighted people. Occasional outings and lunches are arranged and an internal trophy is up for grabs each year to the best players or team.

 

The 383 Club

The 383 Club meets at The Taplin Centre each Tuesday and enjoys activities such as quizzes, debates, outings and games. This very popular club is very lively with many of its members participating in the topics under discussion.

Mountfield

Mountfield - a group meets every Thursday at the Village Hall, 10 pm to 2.30 pm with lunch included. Outings are popular, as is craft, games, pottery, and card games.

Bexhill

Bexhill - A group meets every Tuesday afternoon in Bexhill, the programme includes speakers, entertainers, outings and quizzes.

In addition a full range of equipment and information is available and advice and help is given about the services in Bexhill.
